Street signs usually require some sort of interpretation and navigation expertise. Love this exactly positioned flags.

It’s taken for granted that order makes our life easier. And it’s also better known that shopping malls are created so that you have to walk a little bit to come across shops while you seek for the next escalators.

What really surprised me was to know that some malls are designed to get us completely lost. They talk about it in The secret life of buildings, a great series that face how building’s shape affect us. Since watching it, I’ve been quite obsessed  analyzing path routes in every shopping mall I visit. It turns up to be kind of fun to discover every trick that architects have planned to makes us walk along the building:

• Escalators that drives you not just one floor, but accidentally two or even more without almost noticing it.
• Lifts that works only for some floors.
• Levels that are only accessed by some lifts and escalators.
• Different placement of lifts and escalator, it’s a seek and find game to spot the right one that takes you where you want.
• Solitary escalators to which you have to walk, just to check if it’s going up or down.
• The list continues up to the infinite…

Paternalismo extremo o el arte de utilizar mensajes de aviso y advertencia cuando son completamente innecesarios.

Pero bueno, ya puestos el aviso sería más simpático si rezase: “¡Atención! peatón cruce de acera o tropezará trágicamente con un inmenso saco de arena”.

Bromas a parte imagino que el uso responde a alguna ordenanza municipal.

Los niños entran gratis a visitar la Gran Muralla hasta que miden 150cm. Éste cartel junto a la taquilla advierte del límite con cierto humor. Si has de proporcionar un mensaje neutro o negativo, intenta siempre transformarlo en positivo.

Está ampliamente aceptado que  estropear los bienes públicos o privados pueda conllevar cierta sanción. Sin embargo la redacción de este aviso me pareció divertido. ¿Os imagináis tener que pagar una multa por golpear el cristal con el mango en vez de la cabeza?.

Permanecer de pie en una avenida sobre la que no circula aún el tráfico produce una sensación extraña. Silencio, tranquilidad y la falsa sensación de ser el dueño temporal de ese espacio abierto.

¿Qué te hace elegir uno u otro lugar al entrar en un establecimiento?. Un simple cristal sirve para resguardecernos de los elementos sin dejar de estar en la calle.
